about the
artwork

The print is part of the figurative question of the artist’s production, showing some of his pictorial obsessions, such as the agitated scenes inside the parliaments and the urban guerrilla scenes. Violent and instinctive gestures – drawn from different situations – stuck on the canvas forever. The gestures imprinted on the canvas come from that vast world of images conveyed daily by the mass media. The human figure is present here, it appears, not always clearly, but it is there and it is real, raw and brutal. The canvas is a display in which we can collect the image by addition and in which anthropological research, the study of figures and their movement in space, become the focus. Screens and frames are the means by which to arrive at these pictorial results, in which the strength of our lowest instincts of supremacy emerges consciously.
